Mitra Ray is a research biochemist who earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University. Her work in cell biology – particularly as it relates to cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and other degenerative diseases – has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and published in the journals Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and the Journal of Cell Biology. She devotes herself today to taking the knowledge about nutrition and disease that she has gained and sharing it with audiences around the world. In 2002, Dr. Ray published her first book, From Here to Longevity: Your Complete Guide for a Long and Healthy Life and in 2009 her second book, Do You Have the Guts to Be Beautiful?
