Our Mystery Woman this week is Ann Landers,

the pseudonym copyrighted by Esther “Eppie”

Pauline Friedman Lederer. Eppie Lederer

wrote the Ask Ann Landers advice column

for over 45 years, as it was syndicated in

major newspapers across North America.

She was honored by the Chicago City

Council in 2002, as the street sign “Ann

‘Eppie’ Landers Way” was installed in front

of the headquarters of her home paper, The

Chicago Tribune Tower.
