Rules for Aging, by Roger Rosenblatt
I have so enjoyed this book I thought it would be fun to share it with you!
"Rule #1: It doesn't matter.
Whatever you think matters-- doesn't Follow this rule, and it will add decades to your life. It does not matter if you are late, or early; if you are here, or if ou are thre; if you said it, or did not say it; if you were clever, or if you were stupid; if you are having a bad hair day, or a no hair day; if your boss looks at you cockeyed; if your girlfriend or boyfriend looks at you cockeyed; if you are cockeyed; if you don't get that promotion, or prize, or house, or if you do. It doesn't matter."
As I am reading and typing this, I am thinking of all the things I stress and fret about that really do not matter! And as a health educator, I know that the stress, worry and fretting produces more free radicals that promote premature aging and disease. So today I am practicing going with the flow and it doesn't matter!

One of my favorite teachers and mentors has passed, Jim Rohn. This is one of his many words of wisdom:
Let
others lead small lives, but not you.
Let
others argue over small things, but not you.
Let
others cry over small hurts, but not you.
Let
others leave their futures in someone else's hands,
but not
you.

"how do I not only survive, but also thrive during these economic times?" I have decided to address this question in a series of blog postings. Click on the link below to check out "Lesson 1: Understanding the Process of Wealth".
